AUN-QA AWARDED THE SCHOOL OF BANKING (OF UEH) WITH THE QUALITY ACCREDITATION CERTIFICATE FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS IN FINANCE AND BANKING IN 2013

Bachelor of Banking - Finance of UEH Certificate

UEH welcomes AUN delegation in accrediting the undergraduate programs in Banking - Finance

For 3 days (10th June, 2013 to 12th June, 2013), UEH warmly welcomes AUN delegates to come and accredit the undergraduate programs in banking finance (Banking Major) of the School of Banking. Representing AUN are the honorable guests: Prof. W.Ahmad Kamil Mahmood from the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) - AUN representative, Dr. Heinz-Ulrich Schmidt – Senior representative of the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) from Germany, Prof. Ricardo Cruz - Business Administration Dean from Assumption College, the Philippines; and Dr. Pham Xuan Thanh - Deputy Director of Institute for Education Quality Accreditation, Ministry of Education and Training. Additionally, one observer from the University of Economics and Law also joined the event.

By agenda, the AUN assessors examined UEH’s educational and training facilities, worked with the faculty’s board of management, the scientific council, interviewed interviewed lecturers, student, alumi, and employers to collect information as well as reviewed general comments about the efficiency of education programs.

In the closure on June 12th, 2013, the AUN assessors put up initial comments about the strengths of the faculty together with critical recommendations on improving and augmenting the program quality. The official result of the accreditation is expected to be announced by AUN Secretariat at the end of July, 2013.

AUN-QA AWARDED THE SCHOOL OF ACCOUNTING AND THE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT (OF UEH) WITH THE QUALITY ACCREDITATION CERTIFICATES FOR UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS IN ACCOUNTING AND ADMINISTRATION RESPECTIVELY IN 2016

In the context of international integration, educational accreditation at program level based on accepted standards is an urgent call for both schools and faculties. It does not only increase the competitiveness of the universities but also accredit the quality of training programs which can be internationally recognized. Upon instructions by the Board of Rectors, the Department of Quality Assurance - Curriculum Development has been collaborating with the School of Accounting and the School of Business Management to conduct self-assessment on the quality of programs according to AUN – QA standards since 2014. The two schools have finished the sefl-assessment report (SAR) and gathered evidences for the accreditation. In June 2016, UEH welcomed the AUN assessors who were coming for quality assessment at program level at the two schools. In 2016. These two programmes have been awarded by the AUN-QA

About AUN-QA

Introduction

The ASEAN University Network (AUN) was established in 1995 under the agreement of ASEAN Ministers of Education and an arrangement between 30 universities in ten ASEAN countries (including Vietnam National University and Can Tho University). UEH proudly enrolled the AUN as an associate member since October, 2015. The school has been actively contributing to several programs and activities of AUN as well as expanding relationship with all members in the network.

The AUN-QA - ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance commenced in 1998 and promulgated several important guidances related to quality assurance, especially the AUN-QA Toolkit I – 2000 with 18 standards and 72 criteria, the Toolkit II – 2011 with 15 standards and 68 criteria, and the Toolkit III – 2015 with 11 standards and 50 criteria consisting of different group of elements: input, process, output in a close circle PDCA in order to constantly improve and enhance the education quality.
