The second Asia Conference on Business and Economic Studies 2019 - Great academic and significant activities

From 10th to 14th September 2019, at 59C Nguyen Dinh Chieu St., University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Asia Conference on Business and Economic Studies (ACBES) along with two academic workshops (2nd Publishing Workshop and Mini Conference) were organized by Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies (JABES), sponsored by the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), British Academy, Economic & Social Research Council - E.S.R.C,  Huzhou University, China; CFVG and Vietnam Airlines. There have been more than 300 researchers from 27 countries attending these events.

 

Attending the Opening Ceremony of ACBES 2019 were the world-class Keynote Speakers of leading universities: Dr. Christopher Waller – Executive Vice President and Director of Research at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, USA and Dr. Sandro Sozzo – University of Leicester, UK.

On the UEH’s side, there were Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Huu Huy Nhut – Vice President and Prof. Su Dinh Thanh – Editor-in-Chief of JABES, Chairman of ACBES.

ACBES 2019 has welcomed over 150 professors, lecturers, researchers from 27 countries, such as: UK, Germany, USA, China, India, New Zealand, Spain, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Brunei, UAE, Vietnam…

At the Opening Ceremony of The Conference, Prof. Su Dinh Thanh – Editor-in-Chief of JABES, Chairman of ACBES 2019 has shared: “With the aim to become a research, training, consulting center towards Economics, Business, Management, and Law on par with other prestigious higher education institutions in Asia, UEH always encourages international publication in order to contribute to global knowledge. Therefore, ACBES 2019 is a truly great chance for scientists, researchers, economists, lecturers, and research students to gather, share, exchange, and discuss key issues in relevance of economic development and business sustainability for national and regional prosperity. Through these discussions, early career researchers will have the opportunities to learn from experienced professors, experts, editor-in-chief relating to international publication as well as to promote and develop personal ideas, create article structure, complete manuscript, and submit them to high ranking journals or apply for grants for their research topics.” JABES is honorable to welcome all scientists, economic specialists, researchers, lecturers, research students and especially the two distinguished Keynote Speakers.

In addition, Prof. Su Dinh Thanh has highly appreciated every single research article at The Conference. The research result from accepted papers has had significant empirical findings, which could logically apply to the real context from countries to different regions and cities. Prof. Su Dinh Thanh also acknowledged important supports from all of the researchers to complete JABES in the process to approach scientific communities, and in order to become a scientific journal listed in the SCOPUS Standard Journal System (SCOPUS List). Thus, a bridge between Vietnamese research communities and ASEAN ones will be formed, creating a more communal and globalized connection than ever. On this occasion, Prof. Su Dinh Thanh called out to all of the participants for their support and collaboration for submitting their research and findings to JABES (English version, on EMERALD Publishing Services System) after conference.

After 9 months of calling research papers, over 200 manuscripts have been submitted to ACBES 2019 from 193 authors in 27 different countries all over the world; among them, 96 high-qualified ones were selected, presented, and discussed. Especially, over 70% research papers has been from various international universities. These research have contributed significantly in both theoretical and practical aspect of economic, finance, marketing, international business and business administration.

During ACBES 2019, two add-in important activities have taken place from 10th to 12th September 2019 including:

- The 2nd Publishing Workshop co-organized by The University of Leicester (UK), held on 10th to 12th September 2019 which aimed to support early career researchers in improving and enhancing their research skills, quality of research and increasing their chance to publish their research on high ranking journal in their region and in the world. There have been more than 30 early career researchers participating in this event together with 7 professors from UK, Denmark, and Malaysia.

- The Mini Conference was held in the afternoon of 12th September 2019 with topic: The world of business in the Anthropocene Earth.

Besides, The MOU Signing Ceremony between School of Business, The University of Leicester (UK),  and University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City under the witness of Deputy British Consulate has also taken place during the same afternoon. There have been more than 120 participants from different majors, industries and other media agencies joining in The Conference.

During The Conference, The Organizing Committee has chosen three excellent researchs for the Best Paper awards: UEH Research Award, CFVG Research Award and Huzhou University Research Award. Additionally, a memorable trip to Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange has also contributed greatly to the grand success of ACBES 2019.

In the evening of 13th September 2019 at Victory Hotel, The Organizing Committee has successfully organized Gala Dinner for researchers to discuss their next research cooperation in the near future.

In the afternoon of 14th September 2019, The Organizing Committee has also organized the City Tour to offer opportunities for researchers to expand their network and has introduced the city’s famous 
sight-seeing (including Independence Palace, Municipal Theatre, Ben Thanh Market…) to the scientific communities.
